A longstanding, experienced and well-known professional in the electronics industry, I have been involved in the high technology end of the business for nearly thirty years since graduation.
With board of director experience in the full legal sense, I know how to run established business units as well as create new divisions from scratch, including hiring the right people and creating the overall processes and procedures for the review and optimisation of key technical and commercial activities including marketing, product definition, manufacturing and sales.
Whilst much of my career has been spent focussing on a technology sale through design-in, sometimes customers are only interested in the solution to a business problem they might have, and so having the ability to operate across this sales spectrum has helped me significantly during my career. This is very true in the field of IoT, where customer pain points are driven by business problems and in my experience they need an experienced partner to solve those for them.
I am well suited to roles that require the development of a new strategy or the enhancement of an existing one where sales processes and techniques are needed to scale and bring the sales motion to life. Executing these strategies and gaining the commitment to make them happen is where I am most at home.
Whilst I have the capability to position new technology well through an understanding of the principles and techniques which go towards making great products, my commercial skills are strong and varied too.
Equally comfortable in large corporates or small niche operations, all of my roles have contained a significant element of commercial responsibility, and usually quality, manufacture and product definition as well.
